Choose your lodging at Getaway House or the campgrounds of Homochitto State Park. While lodging is on your own, the retreat experience includes guided hikes, workshops, meals, and workbooks.

With the retreat just six weeks away, now is the perfect time to begin mentally and physically preparing! Here are a few ways to ensure you and your spouse get the most out of the retreat and the hiking experience:

 1. Start Walking Together

If hiking isn’t part of your routine, begin with short, leisurely walks and gradually increase the distance. This will help you build stamina for the hikes planned during the retreat. Plus, walking together allows for quality conversation and bonding time before the event.



 2. Plan for Time Away

Start organizing the logistics of your time away—arrange childcare, take time off work, and ensure all home responsibilities are covered. Planning early will minimize stress leading up to the retreat, and be fully present with your spouse during the weekend. Get a sitter for the kids or pets. Be your future best friend and have a plan b just in case you need it!
