Do you like to read? Where do you find new authors? Are you actively looking for new indie authors? Writing a book is hard. Publishing a book is harder. Marketing a book is the hardest part of the process. As a way to support indie authors, Time with Ty is creating a Summer Reading List of indie authors. For our initial list, we're specifically looking for picture books, middle-grade books, and adult books*. A small but mighty team will read and review all of the books before adding them to the list. If you are interested in joining that team, complete this form.
According to Alliance Independent, "an indie author is a writer of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry books who self-publishes their own work and retains and controls their own publishing rights. Unlike authors who self-publish a book for family, friends, or the community, an indie author (wants to) make a living from writing and publishing books."
If this description fits, we're looking for you!
If you'd like to be considered for the list, complete this form by May 5th. We'll announce the first round of books by the middle of the month and a Summer Reading Challenge by the end of the month. The challenge will run from June 1st- August 31st! We'll add more books to the list on July 1st and August 1st.
*Adult novels may contain mild romance scenes.
